ShieldPRO 18.1 Upgrade Guide
ShieldPRO 18.1 for WordPress is a minor release packed with new integrations and improvements.
This guide outlines what have been added, changed, or improved and what fixes we've made.
Firstly, we're going to explain what major changes are made and which options you'd need to review.
New Added Features
- [Pro] We added Bot-Protection Support for the following 3rd party plugins:
- Classified Listing
- ProfilePress
The settings can be found under the Integrations module.
- Support and integration with WP Umbrella
This will ensure that requests coming from WP Umbrella are never interrupted or trigger Shield's defenses.
Improvements
For 18.1 release we've made the following improvements
- Huge underlying code cleanup and improvements.
- Upgraded Assets, such as Bootstrap to the latest available.
Improved fallback support for Bing Search Engine Bots.
If your site is having temporary rDNS lookup issues and can't verify the Bing bot, we've provided some fallback mechanisms.
Improvements to Plugin Notifications.
This improvement includes forceoff and blocked IP notices, for example:
Bug Fixes
For 18.1 release we've made the following bug fixes
- FileLocker wasn't always creating the file lock correctly.
- Incorrectly identifying Contact Form 7.
Shield would report Contact Form 7 is installed, when it wasn't.
