SureSend: Shield's Dedicated Email Delivery Service for Sending 2FA Codes

Most WordPress sites aren't properly configured to send emails, so sometimes they don't arrive. We discuss this in detail here.

This is a critical issue when 2-Factor Authentication (2FA) emails don't go where they should. If these emails don't arrive, you can't log in.

What is SureSend?

SureSend is a service from Shield Security that helps your WordPress site send important emails, like 2FA codes, more reliably. It uses the ShieldNET API to make sure these emails always get delivered.

Important Points

  1. SureSend is for site admins only.
  2. It works only for 2FA emails.
  3. It's not a full dedicated email service replacement. If you use another email service, you might not need SureSend.

How to Enable SureSend for 2FA

To enable SureSend, please follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Shield > main Tools menu
  2. Locate the Integrations section.
  3. Enable SureSend.

How It Works

When site admins try to log in and need a 2FA login code, SureSend will email the code to their account's email address.

They can then use this 2FA code to complete their login. (see screenshots below)
