Introduction to the Reports section

Reports section is a central "Alerts" and "Info" reporting system.

For example, rather than 1 email per scan, you'll get 1 email per site, as often as you prefer.

And, you'll only ever be notified once per item/result. No more, no less. So you can act on it there and then, or not, but you'll not hear about it again via email.

This section is accessible from within the main navigation menu > Reports:

Reports are composed of the 3 parts:

  1. Alert Reports Frequency - How often should you be sent important alerts
  2. Info Reports Frequency - How often should you be sent information reports
  3. Instant Alerts - Receive instant alert email reports to critical security events that occur on your WordPress site.

Important: Depending on your settings and cron timings, the report may contain a combination of alerts, statistics and other information.

To view Alert and Info reports or create your own custom security reports, read these articles here.

Apart from the Reports options, there is also Report Email option.

How to use Report Email option

You can use this option to see or configure where all email reports and admin notifications for the Shield plugin will be sent.

If you leave this filed empty, it'll default to the site administration email address which will be displayed for you in the option description.

If you don't want these emails to be sent to the default - site admin email address, you can customise it by entering the email address you want. The all emails sent by the plugin will be sent to that email address.
